My Little Girl - Jenny Nicole
Muffit (that's me!)
As parents, our lives tend to revolve around our children.  I think this is because our own childhood is over all too soon. So having children allows us a chance to live that wondrous time all over again. The clothes we dress them in, the places we take them, the memories we share, are all ways we "do not go gentle into that good night", and metamorphosis from the loving gardener into the ageless butterfly, a caring friend for childhood's flower.

Intro

Hello all! (All? Is there a hamster in my pocket??) My name is Muffit (aka Lonny) aged 54 this past New Year's Eve, erstwhile resident of both California and Tennessee, now in pretty San Diego for my daughter's dream of art college (Art Institute of California San Diego). I am married to a sweet wife of 20 years and have a daughter aged 19 as mentioned above (both of whom are beyond my deserving, but this person is very thankful for anywho! Clueless).

Work
We both work for a small charity called A New Sunrise (aka Un Nuevo Amanecer), trying our best to help the very poor of Central America build a life for themselves; myself as legal doc translator and web wannabe (unqualified but eager), and she as village translator (very qualified and equally eager).

School

This old poop is a fourth year college student, but away since 1976. I hope to get my undergraduate in IT/Web Design in Feb 2011, and go on to seek a Masters in Cognitive Psych or HCI before anybody realizes how clueless I really am.Wink

A child's eyes like windows on a kitten's world, gaze out at memories to be.  Innocent of Time's judgmental ravages, they see the world with the heart rather than the eyes.  And that brief heart beats urgently as a captive bird's, consuming Life as frantic as a hungry hearth consumes its coal. Hobbies

My favorite pastimes are anything with my family (old movies, dinner, walks on the dock), and writing music most especially. As my fam' is not too awful fond of said troubadouring, I kind of do the latter when everyone is safely away to try and preserve some semblance of self-image, lol. (Not that I could without ample mounds of natron, but what the heck Beanie, one tries!).

Goals
My long-term goals are to help the impoverished (as God allows, we being of that number at times!) and to contribute meaningfully to the field of man/machine interface technology (HCI), through the study of computer sciences and human cognitive processes for the disabled.

This sapphire tetherball we call our world swings round and round till all its rope is spent; but childhood hopes and infant dreams wax large as gibbous moons, while daylight's youth burns bright.

And if a parent's soul can bridge the gap of wrinkled years, my daughter is the candle in Time's darkness.  A glowing heart that warms this shivering moth I call my life.
